Just Add Power is pleased to announce that the company has nominated Eric Martin, Training Director, for Dealerscope’s 40 Under 40.
With just under a decade of time at Just Add Power, Eric has built the Training and Tech Support programs at the company into an award-winning, industry leading powerhouse. He is constantly on the move for the company, teaching training classes to installers at the company’s hosted training weeks in its Seminole, FL headquarters, leading the training and professional development of support technicians, and writing product manuals and technical support documentation. The Installation Training he designed is approved by CEDIA for CEU’s for CEDIA Certified Professionals, and by AVIXA for RUs in its AV Technologist Certification program.
While he spends many days behind the scenes, Eric also steps in front of the camera – creating training and informational videos for the company YouTube channel as well as hosting on-demand installation training webinars for interested customers during the COVID-19 lockdown. He has a Master of Education from University of Florida and credits his success in his position to Just Add Power CEO Ed Qualls, the technical support staff of the company, and the numerous installers he’s had the pleasure to interact with for training, troubleshooting, or when managing an installation in person.
Eric has served as a reviewer for CEDIA’s AV-Over-IP Course during its design process. He has represented Just Add Power in numerous venues, but is most proud of his work with the Academy of IT at Northeast High School in St Petersburg, FL where he serves as an Advisory Board Member. Their goal is to encourage high school students to enter the IT trades: graphic design, computer software, computer networking, programming. The role of the board is to advise the faculty of the Academy regarding current employer staffing needs in IT, preparation needed for those roles, and curriculum design to achieve that preparation, Eric’s experience teaching high school prior to joining Just Add Power makes him a uniquely valuable member of the Board. He has hosted and mentored four interns since 2018.
Awards that Eric has helped the company receive are:
